Metal racking equipment may seem a priori simpler compounds by seemingly simple structural elements. However the reality is that the metal shelves are products made of thin steel plate thicknesses from 1.5 mm. and 3.5 mm. thick with a particular behavior precisely because of this circumstance.
This has led to a complete body of norms and standards that condense the industry knowledge, and that need to be implemented in order to have safe and competitive industrial equipments.
The most relevant norms are the following:
- UNE EN 15512 “Steel static storage systems. Adjustable pallet racking systems. Principles for structural design”
- UNE EN 15620 “Steel static storage systems. Adjustable pallet racking. Tolerances, deformations and clearances”
- UNE EN 15629 “Steel static storage systems. Specification of storage equipment”
- UNE EN 15635 “Steel static storage systems. Application and maintenance of storage equipment”
- UNE 58013 “Steel static storage systems. Requirements for the treatement of damaged elements”
- UNE 58014 “Steel static storage systems. Validation of storage equipments”
